SmartScreen will warn on unsigned VisibleHours-Setup.exe

The current Windows file is unsigned VisibleHours-Setup.exe. Windows SmartScreen will warn. That warning is expected until Operations adds a signing certificate. It is not a hidden installer and not a Microsoft Store app. Send the employee notice before anyone clicks through.

The real download is /download. The click-through is the unsigned Setup.exe tutorial. Ask VisibleHours “download”, “setup.exe”, or “install agent” opens Download. “how to install”, “download tutorial”, or “smartscreen” opens Help. What SmartScreen will show

1. Download VisibleHours-Setup.exe (Windows x64) from /download.
2. SmartScreen: Windows protected your PC. Press More info, then Run anyway.
3. Finish the NSIS wizard. The tray icon should appear. Leave it visible.
4. If a wizard will not run, use the portable build on the same page. The developer zip is source only — it is not a runnable program.
5. Paste the API URL and invite from Team, or open the /join link. That paste is device pairing. Settings does not pair a PC.

Do not hide the tray to “get around” the warning. The icon is how people know tracking is on. Pause and Quit stay one click. There is no Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android agent, and no Microsoft Store listing. Company Windows PCs only.

What this warning is not

• Not a signed installer. SmartScreen stays until a certificate is applied.
• Not a silent install without notice. Send /notice first.
• Not a Store listing, a Mac agent, or a Chrome extension. Wave 3 Chrome stays draft and off this site.
• Not a hidden service. If someone cannot see the tray, tracking is not running.
• Not a reason to skip the written notice or to turn screenshots on by default.
